Robots 101 - An introduction
to Robotics and Engineering.
Children, ages 7 through 12,
experience a "hands-on" robot
assembly and computer
programming drill where several
Physical Science, Arithmetic,
Geometry and Mathematics
concepts are stressed according to
each individual teacher or school's
needs.
We work in small groups of up to
24 students per class.
We provide all material and
equipment required for this
awesome class. All we need is
your students enthusiasm.
Each 60-minute class is divided into two main sections. During the first
section, students learn about Robots through a dynamic lecture inside their
classroom. In the following section, students learn some of the basic
principles of robot assembly, using Legos, the basics of robot
programming using Robolab, and most importantly they practice some
basic teamwork skills while working as a team to accomplish the goals of
the class.
The skills that we stress during this field trip are:
- Teamwork activities help chiildren learn the importance of negotiation,
taking turns, and playing different roles while working with their peers.
- Computer Programming improves and develops their logical, critical
and creative thinking skills.
- Robot Assembly structures children's minds to solve problems by
breaking them into smaller parts and subsequently solving each individual
one.
